parallel final!

1. Artists create original art.
-think creatively
-develop original ideas
How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
i was thinking very hard about something going around the world to include in my project. i wanted to use a problem that is important to me or has effected me personally. i decided to make a project involving the revolution in Egypt. it was my own idea and i cooperated it to have a different plot but the same meaning behind it.
6. Artists solve problems.
- try alternative solutions
- use mistakes as learning opportunities

How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?
made many mistakes with the project but i found a way to make it all work out. i was very confused on how to sculpt a body, but thanks to the help of Ms. Sudkamp, she helped me shape a body realistically, with Mr. Sands modeling :D.
i made a mistake,or rather, the keln, broke the wall that the man was supposed to go through. one mistake i couldn't necessarily fix after it hardened was to be careful smoothing out the clay and not caring careless mistakes and taking the project seriously.

7. Artists reflect.
- analyze work and process

When did you step back and analyze you work during this project?
i started to sit back and notice everything i was doing when i was done with the pole, the man, and the wall. i as wondering how i was going to get the objects to stand up especially because they are heavy. Mr. Sands brought me a wooden board and helped me see how i was gonna place them. after placing them, i drilled in the board to cause depth and make it stay still. i used super glue to glue them down then i painted the board gray. and after 2 weeks i was finally done.

Perspective project!

Perspective project 🎨

1. Artists create original art.

-think creatively

-develop original ideas

How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?

Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?

I really liked how our project turned out. I turned out to be better than i had expect. We had made a perspective landscape from places all around the world. Alaska, Egypt or desert, and NC. I believe our project was very thought through and is very unique because the bricks look like it has been broken through the bricks to see what is inside them showing a greater vision of perspective and 3-D.

4. Artists take risks.

- try new things

- experiment

Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project?

Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar?

I wasn't sure at all about having the brick walls look like its breaking through. I didn't quite understandhow it  would turn out but when it was put on the wall i saw how much it made the mural look a lot nice. Thank you Hannah:D using chalk was bot new to me i had use it in art 1 which helped a lot because you knew what to do and what not to do.

Parallel project!

I was looking into todays conflicts around the world and none of them interested me. I wanted to make a project that effects me on the world problems. I wanted to do something about my home country, Egypt. I decided to make a project involving the revolutions that have been going on for the past 4 years.

The past revolution put us back to the start if everything we had accomplished from the previous revolutions because it was for bad reasons. I decided to have a meaning behind a troubled man.
First i would have the man breaking through a wall as if he had been trying to get through it for a long time. Secondly, while he is half out i want him to have face planted into a long pole as of he had been surprised of the outcome.
I don't exactly want the art to be on paper since i want the wall to show and the mall running into the pole look 3-D so i am thinking of having the art be in clay:D
This project has a deep meaning behind it. Hopefully it all goes as planned:)

Perceptive project

My team decided to do a project with landscape. I am in a group with Jessica, Chassity, Hannah, Ariel, and Rachel. We are gonna do stripes of different lands. Egypt, Alaska, and Florida. We were gonna add Nc with the lighthouse but we decided to put that one with florida.

Time project

I defiantly took a big risk the most with this project than any of my other project. I was very worried if it would turn out the way i hoped it would but thankfully it did. My experiment was to melt some crayons over a canvas with a tree bark over it it to show time of both melting and growing. I used a new technique with the way i would hold up the crayons with a ruler so that it wouldn't burn my fingers, the idea was one if my friends. I wasn't very sure how the crayons would come lined up but it came out very fine.

- use mistakes as learning opportunities

How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?

Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned?

A solution i could have tried out to make the project turn out better was to wait until the paint had melted and then melt some more because the colors would blend and turn out brown:( which was not what i wanted but i fixed it. The reason why i kept the background white abd made the tree bark plain brown was so that the melted crayons would stand out and the focus would be on them.

Time!

1. Artists create original art.

-think creatively

-develop original ideas

How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?

Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original?

I decided to do something different than most crayon used project. I decided to use the showing of time through two way: a tree growing, and a crayon melting. I developed this idea throud crayons. I needed a way to show crayons growing over time so i used a tree :)

How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?

Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned?

I made alot of mistakes in this project but that is how i learned from them. I tried doing the project with wax and not crayons as shown below

-the idea didn't really work out as to how the wax wouldn't stick to the canvas. Another problem i had while working on the crayon project was that the crayons would melt on the the canvas and slide down immediately without melting slowly at the top.

7. Artists reflect.

- analyze work and process

When did you step back and analyze you work during this project?

When i was melting the crayons rapidly i realized that the colors were mixing together forming brown:( i tried making the art a little better by going over it and using more bright colors. But thankfully i dont have this issue anymore.

Appropriation final

4. Artists take risks.

- try new things

- experiment

Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project?

I have never done anything cartoon-like, or comedy before in one of my arts so that was defiantly risk taking since though I might not come together on not well planned. I tried doing the window in the apple and I felt like it would take away the art from the actual work or it would distract it. I wasn't very sure about doing the rays of light coming out of the laptop but it came togethrer. maybe not like how id hoped but it still looks nice.
7.
I stepped back and looked at my art work when i had painted the apple and laptop i wanted to see if it was well put.
I liked my work and my progress until i started doin it a little sloppy.
2. The techniques i used was water color. I used it sometimes without the water to give it a contrastin color.

I have never done anything weird or switched like i have in this appropriation project. I defiantly took some risk in creating the sponge green background since i have never used sponge art before. I felt like this project wasn't for the title appreciation but it all came together andi like   the idea. Using the sponge was defiantly something i wouldn't use but it came together.

7. Artists reflect.

- analyze work and process

When did you step back and analyze you work during this project?

I felt like i was just making this up and that it was gonna turn out bad but its going very well. I defiantly stopped when i was using the sponge because I wasn't very convinced.

I had some issue with designing the laptop. I wasn't used to eye point. I had some issue with the sponge idea too. I would be using the sponge and some areas would look "spongy" and others looked like regular paint.

Text project

I used this idea because i thought it was very simple and creative. I liked how it was easy going, nota lot   was going on in the page. I had a ballon drifting in the blue sky with text instead of the ballon string with the words "sometimes you just have to let go".

Tensions project.

For this project i tried to show tension by pulling a rope from both ends causing tension. With only one string attached also.

book carving project!!

Prompt: Explain how you developed your design for your book carving. How important was it to have a clear plan before starting? What were the challenges you faced when working on this project? Explain how you overcame them. Discuss your design and how it relates to the book you chose (if that was the case, if not just discuss design). Did you take any risks? How and why? Describe how you felt about the overall project and if you felt it was successful.

I developed my idea when I was thinking of something I would want to treasure for a long time and I was thinking something that would be personal to me. so I developed the idea of the pyramids. it is extremely important to make a big plan before working because that is the most important part of the project I faced lot challenges with the carving itself because it was complicated and it bothered my hands a lot. my design was the pyramids and I chose it because i'm Egyptian.
